We're please to announce our sponsorship of Crieff Juniors Football Club as part of our ongoing community engagement linked to the proposed Glen Lednock Wind Farm.

The sponsorship will support the club’s work with young players, helping to create inclusive opportunities for both girls and boys to take part in football, stay active and build confidence through team sport.

Crieff Juniors Football Club plays an important role in the local community, providing a safe and supportive environment for young people to develop skills on and off the pitch.

Patricia Carr, Senior Stakeholder Manager at Low Carbon, said:
“As part of our engagement around Glen Lednock Wind Farm, we’re keen to support initiatives that make a positive difference locally. Crieff Juniors Football Club does fantastic work with young people, and we’re proud to support opportunities for both girls and boys to be active, build confidence and feel part of their community.”

Stevie Bannerman, Chair at Crieff Juniors FC welcomed the support, adding:
“Support like this makes a real difference to grassroots football. Low Carbon’s sponsorship helps us continue to provide inclusive opportunities for young players and invest in the future of the club. We’re grateful for their commitment to supporting the next generation in Crieff and the surrounding areas.”

The sponsorship reflects our wider approach to community engagement, ensuring local communities benefit alongside the development of renewable energy projects.

In the event of consent, we will set up a community benefit fund for the communities of Strathearn that will pay £5k/MW (index linked) for the 40-year operational life of Glen Lednock Wind Farm. That equates to £589,000 per annum and £23.6 million over the 40-year operational life, providing a great opportunity for future funding of the delivery of Local Place Plan objectives. This is in addition to at least £1 million of annual non-domestic rate payments to Perth & Kinross Council.
